Talking WHERE WHEN how and which seal ?

hey guys i was just wondering about all u guys that have had the 7 blow a seal on you. i was jus wanting to know where? when? how? what seal? u know those type of questions about the time u blew ur engine.

Parking lot, after some heavy racing. Put it into 1st, under 10 mph, didnt hear anything "pop." Just a sudden loss of power and it didn't wanna idle. WTF? I guess that was my penalty for racing on a COLD engine.

I still dont understand WHY it blew? carbon? I really dont know.


Well, took the engine apart, apex seal gone on the REAR rotor. Carved the housing up good and ruined the rotor. $1600 for factory rebuild

THANKS FOR THE LINk but i dont need it im jus wondering the stories of like where and what u were doin the time ur engine blew its pretty interesting to know! well, see i went to McDonalds one day and started the car up like usual to go to my bro'z house well i ragged on it on the way there and i arrived there talked a lil while went to start the car and nothing!
well we tried to push start and nothing would work well i heard a small "pop" too like dre's story . well i didnt know it was blown till the next morning i got towed to my house by my dads truck and i tried to push start it while getting pulled and it did not want to idle and it sounded so very low sounding and so distinctly quiet that i knew it was gone but im back in full effect now and rarin to go

the only one thats dies on me: 1985 gsl-se 211,000miles on the original engine. it always smoked when started cold, and then i put a radio in it. once i had reception, the rotor oil seal blew. it smoked so bad i couldn't see the house. i took the motor apart and it looked new (except for the o ring)

I misread. My 82 went one morning. Going to jury duty. Normal street driving. No high revs. Doing about forty to forty five in forth. Just started running on one rotor. Don''t remember any real noise. No sounds previous to it happening. Not overrevving, not lugging.
