where to tap for boost guage??
where to tap for boost guage??
I know i posted and got replies on this already, but i would like to know exactly which vacume line i am tapping in to; where does it come from and where does it go to. also, have you guys used the nylon tubing that come with the autometer one?? I cant seem to figure out how to tap into an existing line with a T fitting because of the great difference in size between the lines. Could I just buy some regular vaccume line and substitute it, or will the larger volume of the bigger diameter tubing cause my guage to misread. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in Advance.
Here you go...I have the Autometer too.
The easiest way that I found was to buy vac. hose (~6 ft.) and a plastic T-fitting (my vac line is 7/64" ID so it is just slightly bigger than Autometer nylon, and T-Fitting is 3/16"). You will want to T-off in front of the passemger strut just before the boost pressure sensor. Run the vac. line to the firewall. Then, insert the Autometer nylon line into the vac line and tape it off to prevent any leakage. You need the nylon line becuz it is designed ot fit the guage. Run the nylon line as indicated by the other thread.
If you can't figure it out by Monday morning, PM me and I will send you an email w/ some pics (digital camera is at work). Good luck,
Jay

plumb it straight off the nipple on the back side of the secondary runner nearest the fire wall, it normally just has a block cap on the end of it on all the ones i have seen.
