Where should i start looking if my idiot lights dont work??

i have no lights what so ever. i dont know where to look. i just replaced all the fuses in the fuse box.. and none of them work at all.. I did a search and didnt really come up with anything. Is there a connector or something i should check ?? also what is a good way of pulling that trim off without breaking it?? i read it on here somewhere a while back but i cant find that thread either,, please some help
