Where to put the water temperature gauge sensor

I just placed an order on a water temperature gauge. I am wondering where I can get a good reading without tapping into the radiator or drilling holes? I have a 90 NA

First of, is it mechanical or electrical? If it's mechanical I don't know, but if it's electrical..... here https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...284#post515284

No, they're right. You still need a place to put the sender with an electrical gauge, and replacing the stock gauge sender is the obvious answer.

No I understand that, what I am saying is that the water temp sender does not go below the oil filter.

The water temp gauge sender is below the oil filter! Look it up if the FSM if you don't believe me.

You're thinking of the thermo switch in the waterpump housing.

However, i don't think 1/8 NPT will thread into the stock water temp sender location.

I drilled and tapped a hole in the water pump housing, where one of the bolts for the air pump bracket goes.
