OK, here is the thing i was thinking about gutting my cat..and i jack the car up so i can unbolt it..( i just got this car not too long ago .) and i notice this my cat is right after the turbo!! after is a long pipe then the Y pipe to the 2 mufflers?? and i also notice this..after the cat there its welded !!??? is this factory TII exhaust system?? my question is..how can i get that Dam cat out!! help please
PS: last night i raced my friend mustang SHO with lot's of mod he ran mid 14 all day , he's in my auto tech class pretty nice huy so i know he's not BSing he got slip to prove.. i beat him by at least 2 car b4 leaving him behindin my rear view mirror he told me that i should run low 14 to maybe high 13 ...let's see i got a very leaky exhaust, new clutch.. everything that i know is stock...and i though i was slow... he say he try hard to keep up .. ...i slept like a baby last night..

 

Your sure it's a cat?? Could be a downpipe.. then midpipe, then y-pipe..

 

looks like cats to me..but like i said it's look welded right after the cat..and there is nothing else to it all the way to the mufflers.. it's bolt directly after the turbo...no downpipe

 

Hmm.. i donno, get some pics of it or something and people can prob help you out a bit more, try and get a digi cam or something.

Sounds like they replaced the main cat with a straight pipe and left the precat in.
