Remember, punctuation is your friend.

Yeah, and the tach idea, sucks. That's why you have a red line buzzer, so you don't have to look for a gay light to come on.

Put the tach back in its box and sell it, you dont need it, you were tricked into thinking you like it from some recent movies. Save yourself the $ and buy somethign worthwhile

save for suspension?
maby exhaust
bushings
how bout fix the things that are borken?

If you don't want others to talk ****, then don't ******* post stupid **** like that. It's as simple as that. Last time I checked, we had this thing called freedom of speech? If you don't like criticism, then you have no place here.

Alright, however.. you did ask where we think you should put it, and now we are telling you

its retarded, you already have a HUGE *** stock tac, unless your dropping ALOT of $ to let your engine last atleast a few days running it up there, its pointless, also, there is no place for it, unless your going to put it Directly infront of the stock one

you can put that 5" tach up ur *** for all i care... i and 99% of the rest of the sensible world would never have that on a car, especially one that came with a stock tach like ours... it takes a speshul kind of person to do something so retarded to their car

I might need a tach because I am swapping S5 TII into my S4 so I'll have a hidden 1k rpm but you in NO WAY NEED A TACH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't be a fucktard rice boy. Don't be like the 90 GTU I saw which had a boost gauge and tach even though it was NA!!!!!!!!!

eh? Don't S4 NAs have 7k redline and 8k tach? That's what S5 TIIs have... only S5 NAs have their redlines set at 8k rpm and have 9k tach.

he meant it as he'll want a different tach altogether because the 7Kredline/8K MAX isn't enough. that's how i took it.

S5 TII's only go to 8 as well? Really?

I thought they went to 9k like the S5 NA's.

I know S4's mainly. I guess ya learn something new each day.

The best place I can think of to put the tach is just to the left of the stock dash next to the window. This will leave your view relatively unobstructed and hopefully will put the shift light close to your line of sight. No joke though, don't be revving that engine past 8k (even that rpm shouldn't be sustained) unless you want to do that rebuild/port job much sooner.

I would recommend getting a slightly smaller steering wheel (an inch smaller is good) that partially blocks your stock tach so that when people give you **** about the aftermarket one you can cite that as a reason. My momo wheel blocks the upper 0.5"-1.0" of my tach so I could understand desiring a different one at a different location, though the needle and buzzer seem to work well for me. Also, invest in some critical gauges before the tach (oil temp/pressure and water temp) and put them somewhere in the center console. It's a good preventative measure and you'll like it when you see the water temp rising before your engine goes.

Final recommendation, read up on this forum (seems like you do that a bit already) and understand that people on here are always right in every regard, arguing will do little to change that. There's great advice but it will come at the expense of a damaged ego more often than not. Hopefully you'll see where people are coming from and can realize that an RX-7 isn't always about being fast or flashy, but rather about driving an amazing car with respect and skill. And don't wreck it in your races

Good luck

thanks. i was gonna add "where should my pikachu go?," but now i know!

yea, only S5 N/As tachs redline at 8 and show 9K. if i had a T2, i'd work on having an S5 n/a guage put in (if relatively easy).

There is no point of having 9k tach only you modified your engine accordingly so that it revved at least up to 8k, though

Wait we need that part from initial D where the guy buys an 11k rpm tach to go faster
youre pretty funny, but thats not why he bought the tach, obviously -_-... his new engine redlined at 11K and his old tach had a max of 8 or 9k shown, and he had to have some way of telling when it was at its peak point in order to get full power.

Thats what they said in the captions in that episode. Obviously there is reason to install a higher redlining tach if your going to need to use the rpms and the engine can handle it and all that bla bla bla bla blah! But there is no need to get another tach there a huge one front and center with a shift buzzer from the dealer so he doesn't need it. Its just a ricer mod unless he is going to do some serious track racing where you can't waste that extra second it takes to look at the stock unit. And he doesn't need 11k rpms.

ok guys thats a lil messed up he asked for advice cause you know it is his own car and all and its up to him if he wants to put a tach on it even if he wanted to put green neon lights on it still up to him but neways i think best suggestion would be take out the stock dash and replace it in there but would look somewhat odd with stock gauges and improved tach if you want a nice thing to do is get a new gauge kit there real cheap at $30 its white faces come in different colors (blue/green etc) heres the link....http://www.procarparts.com/store-det...%2DXXXX%2DRVGX and if your turbo heres another link http://www.procarparts.com/store-det...%2DXXTB%2DRVGX need any more info or other stuff go to www.procarparts.com or pm me if you need any help installing...

P.S best place would be on top of the dash towards the right facing you..
