Where The Hell Can I Get One Tii Halfshaft

seriously, i'd like to know. Mazdartrix cant get it, Napa can't get it, Autozone cant get it, Advanced auto parts got me TWO different ones from a company called CCT i believe, both came in boxes that were beat to hell and back (obviously returned numerous times). the first one has the wrong bolt pattern. ****. so i return it, order a new one. It came today and the joint cover plate thingy at the end is dented from the inside in about four places and its falling off and leaking grease. We line it up with the original wrong one just to check the bolt pattern to see if perhaps it was right, but its the same wrong bolt pattern and the whole shaft is like THREE INCHES TOO SHORT, WTF! I think im going to end up taking it to a drivetrain shop to see if they can rebuild the bad one, but the problem is it's missing the little x shaped piece that holds all the ball bearings in, which is why its broken in the first place. I'm sure mazda wants like 500 dollars for one, but does anybody have any better option, or know where i can get that little piece? /rant.

Wreckers?

A driveline shop should easily be able to rebuild your old one.

yes, many times, its rare that someone has just halfshafts for sale, just one is even rarer.

No turboII's at any junkyards here. Could the driveline shop do it even with that piece missing though?

Perhaps...It depends if the shop is decent and cares. My local shop will do anything asked of them but I've seen many shops just shrug off any "import" stuff.

Have you tried Victoria British, they have CV AXLE assemblies in their current catalog for 86-88 Turboe for 99.95 + 70 core or for 89-92 for 79.95 + $40 core. I would suggest though that you replace both at the same time. It is just a thing I have and at their prices it would still be less that Mazda if the $500 you stated is accurate.

www.victoriabritish.com should get you there.

Hope this helps.

Oh and I know their website doesn't mention RX7's but their catalog is pretty comprehensive for us rotorheads. By the way my rx7 "F Prepared" autocross special is almost done. Goes in for bodywork and paint Saturday morning, just got the customer exhause and full alignment today. Roll cage in a week.

From: We're all fine here now, thank you. How are you?
The drivetrain shop (think thats the name of the accual shop) is right in Columgus and they should be able to find/make/rebuild you one on the cheap. They did the half shafts on my corsica, the driveshaft on my rollback, and the driveshaft on my dads semi.
