Where the heck is my egr valve?

Ok, I know the egr valve is supposed to be on the bottom half of the intake manifold and pointing back towards the firewall. My engine is out of the car and I can't find the egr valve for the life of me. The motor is a series 4 jspec. Does this engine not have an egr valve? I have the block off plate so I know the approximate size of the base of the valve. Anyone have a pic of an egr valve installed on the motor.

do you really need this, or is this just for emission? maybe better fuel economy, thinking about a block off plate

It injects exhaust gases into the intake manifold to lower NOx levels or something (reduces greenhouse gases basically). Just one less vac line imo.

Thanks for the pic of the valve, so did you have to remove your intake manifold to see it? Yup, thats deffinately the size of my block off plate, now I just got to find this thing.

As far as I know, it's just for emissions. You need it to pass smog check but if you dont have to worry about smog, you might as well take it off. It is Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve. I believe it takes some of your dirty exhaust gas and recirculates it back into the intake so it can get burnt a second time so your car will run cleaner.

Damn the EPA! They fill our motors with all these useless valves and vacume lines.
