Where the heck did my boost go????

ok, so i was driving my car a lot today about 175 miles total, my boost gauge was going about half the way up usually (stock gauge). after i stoped by my friend's house to show him the car ( i just got last saturday) when i started it back up and drove off the boost wouldn't go above zero. the needle would still move from -20 to 0, but not past zero. where as before it would move half way up the gauge. what the heck went wrong?

ok, so i drove my car this morning and i'm still barely getting any boost. i guess it wasn't just an overheated turbo. Could my turbo be shot? what do you check for if you think you have a bad turbo? or should i take it to a mazda shop?

Check all the easy stuff first - clogged air filter, boost leaks, clogged exhaust - it should be something simple.
