Where, exactly, does the fuel filter mount?

Seriously.

I was rooting through the engine bay and discovered that my fuel filter is just kind of hanging there, mounting bracket and all. It's like the mounting bracket just decided to remove itself from the engine bay. I'm sure that any added stress on a fuel line isn't a good thing, so I want to anchor this bad boy down. I was looking for the original points at which it was tacked down, but damnit I can't find them. The FSM and Hanyes manuals were both useless. Can someone snap a pic or give me some really good directions or something?

This is the story of my car. That condensor that is supposed to mount under the clutch slave cylinder was just kind of chilling out randomly in the engine bay, too, as was the main relay, and the battery. My poor car needs some serious lovin'

Thanks all.

the filter mounts to the unibody frame rail on the drivers side. very close to the firewall, strait down from the oil filter.

there are two rubber mounts on the frame rail with a 10mm stud in each rubber mount.

Mine was hanging on by a zip-tie until recently. I spent a long time trying to figure out where the thing was supposed to mount. I searched the web for photos of the fuel filter and finally found one (sorry, don't have the link). The 10mm bolt holes were camoflaged really well and just looked like rubber frame plugs.
BTW, it's a real bitch to get the thing bolted back on. I think I gave up on that top bolt and just made sure the bottom one was tight.

well, poop. Those rubber mounts are still attached to the bracket. I was looking for the holes that they used to be in, but I couldn't find anything that looked right. I was looking at right next to/under a rubber boot at the top of the intermediate shaft. I'll go and check out the frame rail for a couple of holes that I can pound those rubber plugs in to. I swear, the rubber mallet has been the most useful tool on this car.
