I raped myself with bolts earlier this year, I lost almost all the stock bolts during a 5spd swap (enging/tranny bolts, tranny bolts, driveshaft, halfshaft, everything!)
Thanks to the local napa dealer, and Rx7Club for getting me pitch threads, everything works excellent now! Though some of the replaced bolts are cheap *** allow thats gotten crosstreaded and chewed to hell (I don't dare thouch them)...
Haynes and the FSM won't say **** about bolts. I learned that first hand, you gotta rely on someone to remove an old bolt, and check the size and pitch thread. Almost like noone documents that ****.

IIRC the engine/tranny bolts are m12x1.5 DO NOT QUOTE THAT ON ME however.
Also, teh bottom most engine/tranny bolt IS NOT identical pitch thread as the rest of teh engine/tranny bolts. Mazda wanted to rape anyone that used new bolts, so they changed the pitch thread on one of the 5 or 6 mounts (Grrrrrr...)
EDIT: said m12 above seems really small, maybe its m14...

What, hardware stores don't exist in San Jose/ Santa Cruz?
Seriously, try the hardware store. Since they are metric, they may he hard to find in the states. But every community has a fastener store. You should be able to find anything you need there.

and don't just get any bolt
I think you have to get the right hardness, otherwise it will shear
For example, could someone advise what hardness bolt we should use for mounting the alternator......you know...the FD alternator swap that needs a new bolt?
thanx

FWIW...
The engine/trans bolts on my 1991 are M10x1.25, considered fine thread, common for automotive applications into cast iron (fine thread).
