Where can I get remanufactured 4 piston calipers?

I dont trust myself to rebuild something as important as my brakes.

I have found one site, www.rockauto.com that sells remans for $30 a side. Was wondering if local places would have the same OEM caliper.

I bought a reman rear single-piston caliper from the local Discount Auto Parts, I'm assuming they would carry the 4-piston front as well. Don't remember prices, but it was way cheaper than the dealership (and has been working fine for many miles now).

Local places ( part source and the like) would NOT have OEM calipers....they would have reman units the same as what you found on the net......

O-riginal
E-quipment
M-manufacturer

meaning Mazda.........if its not from Mazda its not OEM

I know what OEM means. I was asking because the site I listed shows pictures of the caliper, but no the face that has the Mazda logo on it. I wasnt sure if Mazda was simply using a generic 4pot caliper with their name on it, or using a genuine made Mazda part.

well the caliper itself would be re-used.....so it would....nay SHOULD......have the Mazda name on it.

The calipers you are looking at are remanufactured units....meanign they would have simply had new pistons/seals..cleaned sliders etc.

the case (or caliper..the part with the name anyway) would be reused

O'Reilly's has them for $30something. They are original Mazda calipers that have been rebuilt by A1 Cardone or something like that. I've got a reman on my left front.

You can get just the caliper itself for $30 after you turn in your core, or for like 50 something you can get it with pads and springs.

I plan on ordering a pair of calipers only next week, I have a set of pads already, and my hardware is still in good shape.

How is your reman holding up? Does it seem likes a good quality rebuild?

Ya, the reman was fine. I couldn't tell a difference between the quality of the reman compared to the other one that I rebuilt. The outside of the reman was a bit nicked up though.

Yep. It was a Mazda caliper that someone turned in as a core. Then it was rebuilt and re-sold.

FWIW, I just got some from Autozone. Mazda carcas with new pistons and such. Came with the new w spring, new pad-retainer wire, and new pins for the pads.
I paid like $220 but the cores are $57 (ea) I think and I haven't brought them back yet.

I'm hoping I didn't cross thread one of the brake lines... gotta get the rears put back together before I can put pressure on it and see if it's going to hold.
