Thanks Icemark. I wouldn't have known about these guys If you hadn't posted the link. I saved big bucks...so I guess I kinda owe you one.

I'll post results when I'm done.
Nothings changed. It was a bitch to Install 50lbs of wires and 47 Harness Plugs (both racerjason and I counted), could probably do It In half the time and I still owe Icemark for the link.

It took us the whole afternoon. We were very meticulous In every connection. Why come around a second time due to overlooking things or rushing? It helped that everything Is gutted of my EB to begin with, especially when the Harness routes Itself at the first bend at the Radiator.

If you plan on doing this, don't rush quality. It'll be a real life nightmare when diagnosing a WTF? If you are having problems.

67-010 should be the harness for the whole car, ie headlights, to taillights, it doesnt do the engine.

67-070 i'm not sure what it is, it could be the dash harness or the alternator/cas/oil pressure harness

the ecu to engine harness is gonna be an 18-05xx number

Are the Mazdasurplus ones new or yanked from cars?

I've got a harness which has a few broken wires and was thinking of opening it up and running new ones for anything that looks bad.

I have a fries electronics near me too so electronic parts aren't hard to get here. I'd try and keep the same color coding on the wires but I'm guessing it'll be a little hard to only get like 10ft of each color, etc.

Believe me. You are not the only one. It spared me from Installing a crunchy old one. I gained lost functions after the new Front Engine Harness Install that I could never fix.

I can't answer your question directly but I can give you my scenario. I too had the same problem. The part number to the Front Engine Harness I received from the Dealership didn't match Mazda Surplus (MS). Under the description portion of a given Harness, MS lists a range of VIN numbers the Harness will be compatible with. Mine wasn't In the range. Despite that, I ordered It for my 88 GXL. It turns out It was a direct match and the falling out of range was probably due to being a Canadian RX7. I dunno.

then there are gonna be some differences, they may be very minor, or for something you're not using anyways

how difficult would it be to rewire an 87 T2 harness to an 89 T2 engine with the electrical oil sending unit? I'm told the car has the appropriate ECU for the new engine.

i couldn't get to mazdasurplus.com apparently no site is configured there right now.

Thanks
