If you can't even figure out the mounts problem, I think you're in over your head.

This forum is too full of people too scared to do something differant or happens to be a little bit involved.

Seriously, someones linked to pre-fabbed mounts, which is half the work of the REW. If the OP uses an aftermarket ECU thats the wiring sorted. Plumbing isnt really a challenge, just takes some planning and trial work with piping.

Personally I think more people need to open thier minds and try step over the obstacles collectively. If the option of a REW swap becomes more accessible, like the T2 swap, just imagine the possibilities.

Unfortunately for this forum particulary, the main obsticle for FC owners seems to be money (myself included, i've got mine on the market now since I cant afford to work my T2 whilst i'm working my MR2). I think this mostly explains all the dreamers and half-assed work posted here.

Exactly...

If you're so determined to do this, why ask a bunch of forum idiots what to do?
That's just...bad.
This implies you either have no clue what you are doing or too young to realize it's stupid idea.

The problem is that a 13BT swap will get your 90% of the power potential of the 13B-REW.
The 13BT drops right in.
The 13B-REW doesn't.
When some new guy comes in here and starts boasting about buying a 13B-REW and trying to stuff it into a (NON-TURBO FOR CHRISTSAKE!) FC, all the red flags go up.

The swap isn't easy to do.
Those engine mounts, IMNSHO, suck donkey ***** - bad design.
The OP is starting with with a non-turbo!
The 13B-REW is going to break the transmission / driveshaft / rear diff / rear axles...if they managed to get the engine installed and running at top power even at stock power levels.
The swap requires Turbo II drivetrain parts - does the OP explicitly state this?
NO.

Which means he looks like some kid who doesn't have enough money or enough knowledge to complete such a project successfully.

The thread screams FAILURE all over it.
We're trying to save the OP money and heartbreak.

$285 is probably the least expensive aftermarket part you'll buy for this setup. Keep in mind that you'll need a standalone to run it ($1000+), upgraded fuel pump (few hundred), bigger injectors (few hundred), FMIC (few hundred to a thousand), custom downpipe (few hundred), custom oil cooler lines ($100 or so), flywheel and clutch ($500+) and a host of other things I'm probably forgetting.

Those mounts are also poorly designed. The welds look poor and they place all the weight of the engine as a sideways load on the stock mounts which are designed to be loaded vertically.

if this is true, then you dont want to use those cheeseball mounts. there is a RIGHT way to do an -REW, although i dont feel its worth it over a 13bt. you can either make a rear cross-member (lots of welding, custom work, not easy) or you can tap the center irons on the rew the same as 13b-re irons and use the 13b-re mounts. Im not sure if anyones actually dont this, but it would work.
