When you upgrade the exhaust

Does anyone replace the heat shields when they upgrade the exhaust? I'm hopefully going to do mine very soon and wondering if I need to put the heat shields back. Not even sure they'd fit if I went with a Bonez superflo cat and an RB exhaust anyway.

Heat shields

I have a full RB setup on my 90 GTU. During the summer months, especially now that I live in FL, I can feel heat from my exhaust through the carpet on the tranny hump. Gets pretty hot sometimes, however, I have to stock heat shields. Don't know of anyone that offers upgrades anyway.

Hell yes you want to install your heatshield back unless you want to burn some hoses and your harness under the hood. YOU MUST HAVE YOUR HEATSHIELD. I have a RB FULL TURBO BACK SYSTEM and i have my heatshield.

I meant the ones that cover the bottom of the cats and pipes, not the ones above.

RB from headers to tail pipe. No heat shields. Live in Texas. 100 degree heat common. No complaints. The real incentive for leaving them off in my case is the once a year reinstallation for the smog police. Yes, I am a criminal. No bad side effects noticed.
