When installing an intake do i need to have that sensor plugged into the intake????

when installing an intake i noticed theres a little sensor plastic piece that plugs right into the intake box when installing a normal coneshaped intake do i need to keep that sensor there or can i take it off??? please help ASAP????

i think your referring to your MAF sensor. from what ive read on here, that needs to stay in place unless you have an upgraded ecu chip i believe.
