Which wheel set?

Hey guys I am ramping up the build with my TII and plan to have the TII done by early 05 or late 04 so I need to get my *** in gear. I have a good set of BBS vert wheels with a set of Potenza RE950's with probably 85% tread remaining on my Sport which was totaled just over a month ago. I also have the option to purchase a set of S5 TII wheels with Good year rubber on them(model unknown to me) with 50% tread on them. The price is good and not too much and he is a friend of mine which is a plus since I have already bought/sold with him. Strictly speaking from a performance side of things and I do mean STRICTLY from performance which wheel size and tire size will be better for a combo of autox and drag and very light street use? I don't care about the looks and besides both sets of wheels are awesome looking already. I know its hard to tell becuase of the different tires on the wheels but which wheel type/size would be better? I will probably buy new tires within 6 months or so. That in mind what do you think would be best for my purposes?

Santiago

PS- I kinda want the stock TII wheels because they are well stock but I want to know about performance

As i'm sure you know, the BBS vert wheels are lighter by about 6lbs. 11.5 for the vert wheels and about 17lbs for the TII wheels. this would save you about 24 lbs of unsprung weight in the wheels alone. 16" tires are also going to be heavier. So from a STRICTLY performance standpoint, if you used a tire with the same treadwith and same sidewall aspect ratio (NOT circumference), the BBS wheels should give you slightly better performance. However, to run the same sidewall on the BBS wheels as you would on the TII, you will run a smaller diameter than stock. Unless they are just for autocross or drag, then I wouldn't run a different diameter tire.

I hope this helps a bit. Although it'll probably just make it harder to make up your mind.

Personally I love the way the S5 TII wheels look and are much lighter than the 24 or 29lb S4 TII wheel.
