wheel bearings broken?
When I shook my front wheels while my car was on jackstands, I could feel lots of play, so I used the http://www.fc3s.org instructions to tighten the wheel bearings. New grease and everything. After putting everything back on, the wheels still wobble and driving about 65mph is still annoying as heck.
Does anyone know how I can tell if the wheel bearings just need to be replaced? I don't want to just do it out of trial and error because they're not cheap.

Check out madzdatrix.com for the FAQ on front wheel bearing replacement. It's quite a job to replace the front races. There is no access from the rear of the race, so you have to grind out some of the aluminum of the hub behind the race in order to make a space to punch the race out.

I've got a big hydraulic press in the garage. I'm just hoping it's the half shaft that's making all the noise and not the outer wheel bearing. I'll find out this weekend.
