Question Wheel Bearings

Has anyone ever tried this procedure to replace just the front wheel bearings and not the entire hub?

How tuff is it? How long does it take? How much risk is there of seriously damaging the hub?

Thanks guys

The bearing is no biggie, it's the race that's the tough part. Mazdatrix has a good writeup on how to do this.

you can re-pack the front wheels bearings. I did it, took about an hour each side (that was the first thing I ever did to my car)

I used the hanes manual. It worked pretty good.

My bad, thats actually what I meant.....the race.
Have you done it? how bad is it?

I have yet to pull the hub, I might not need to replace the bearing race but I wanted some input before I got all the way in there and needed to.

You need a dremel, but other than that, it's not bad at all.
