wheel bearing cover???

I bought some aftermarket rims so I couldn't use the wheel bearing cover that came with the stock rims... The rims I bought had a plastic circle piece inside the rim but it didn't fit...so what can i use in replacement of the stock cover? right now I just have silicon on the edge and it's fine but im looking for a better cover.

I have a similar problem. I bought a set of rims and the front center caps dont stay on because of the cover for the wheel bearings. Is it possible to just take the cover off or maybe grind them down alot or just take a hammer to them and "punch" them in a little?

Most cars that have had brake work done have dents in the cap anyway. While I'm not saying I recommend it, it won't hurt anything as long as you don't put a crack or hole in it. It's job is to keep dust, dirt and water out, and keep wheel bearing grease in. The spindle and nut don't move inside the cap, so even if it hits it won't matter. You CAN NOT run without them though. Eventually your grease will become contaminated with crap and ooze uut all over the wheel (and everything else) and your bearings will die an ugly death.
