whay does my car suck?
Okay my car doesnt suck. it just needs some work done on it. But i can't get the stupid thing to start and i don't know why?
me and my dad don't no much about rotary engines but we know the basics and we tried a lot of normal things to the car tto get it started. it is an old 87 rx7 and it had no battery so i out one in and check all the fluids and there fine but it won't start the engine turns really good but it dosent start. what are some usuall percations to getting a car like mine to start??

Did you just buy it or has it sat for a while? Check compression, make sure its getting fuel and spark like the others said, then you have to learn how a rotary engine works. Understanding whats going on inside the engine will help you trouble shoot better cause its way different then a piston engine.

A good thing to have is a Haynes manual. You can also download the factory service manual here.
www.fc3s.org On the menu on the left, click on "How To's", then on the new menu, click on "Manuals" then select the year for your car. Its in PDF format and you can either download each chapter, or look at it online.

Put a battery in the car and push start it.
Turn the key to 'On', put it in first gear. Get someone with a truck or something to push you. Get going fast enough so you are going about 4500rpm in first gear. Your car will start to sputter and might smoke a bit. Then you will hear a nice big back fire and it will start up.

Do not push start a car that has been sitting two years unless you want to rebuild the engine.
Pull the leading (lower) spark plugs and use a turkey baster to put several ounces of oil into each chamber. Rotate the engine slowly by hand a few times, then let it sit an hour. Repeat two more times.
Replace the spark plugs and wires, change the oil and coolant, then attempt to start the car. As soon as it has started, use the accellerator pedal to hold the engine speed at abou 2000 for a few minutes. Now follow standard breakin procedures (search for info).
