Thats a good idea.

The project involves swapping a S5 setup onto a S4 engine.

I have seen this setup produce in excess of 25 HP to the wheels...with the new data I have been learning.

And that HP number is determined by how much time you want to spend on the manifolds.

well like i said i didnt mean to stoop to mazdaspeed7's level but it pissed me off where he came about making fun of me for no reason..... i just wanted my friend's opinion first.. and wanted to know what EVERYONE knew and did and all the good stuff .... i was looking for extensive research on this topic..... not just yes or no answers and expect to know everything...

GLHS, dont try to come across like youre better than everyone else here, thats what pissed me off. You obviously have something im mind with your intake manifold, so I say good luck. I would like to see dyno results from it. We can compare them to my dyno results after I get my motor broken in.

One more thing, theres only so much you can do to the stock manifolds. I have yet to see a n/a make over 200 rwhp with the stock manifolds, ported or not.

Fact - closed ports pull much harder under 3K.
Also most passengers prefer cruzing under 3K.

And before anyone tries to be a know-it-all, you can make a motor make more peak power without the sleeves. IF you port the motor that way. But we're not talking about motors built with that in mind from the beginning. If thats what you have, then you have no point in arguing here, b/c i doubt the people asking about removing the sleeves are buidling their motor right now, and need to know what to do abotu the 6 ports.

I think this guy doesn't understand the definition of a "ricer". If you have an "econemy car" which you put useless perforamce parts on and stickers all over and it's still slow as ****, you are a ricer. But when you have a group of friends in a racing club with cars that are "sports cars" from the factory that are fast or in the process of getting faster, that's not ricey.

P.S. If you really want a type R badge, you better get one off the internet cause we don't have any.

Justin. Thanks for clearing this up for me. I do realize i'm an idiot now. All along I thought puting a 3" downpipe & a 3" exhaust on my turbo II would help make more HP out of my car. Man, I am a ricer I had it all wrong....need more stickers, yeah that's it.

P.S. what does your slow *** car do in the 1/4 mile?
