Whats wrong with my SET-UP?
Just like the title states, whats wrong with my set-up:
K&N drop in filter
Auto to 5speed
-automatic ecu
Same rear end
-87 GXL so I have LSD
Racing Beat Header (2 to 1)
Straight pipe
-2 and a 1/4
Borla Mufflers
Having this set-up, are my 5 and 6 ports opening? I dont have any grease so I cant do that check and I dont feel like buying it for a fingertip amount!
I mos. def. dont have any torque, its all high end! like maybe from 4 and up- it just goes! lol so whats your prognosis doc?

Judging from the symptoms you describe, you must be driving one of them damned rotary engines.. they don't make torque up until like 30 trillion rpms..
Seriously though, S4 NA auxiliary ports operate off of exhaust pressure, so there's a decent chance your 5/6th ports aren't opening correctly if you have an aftermarket exhaust. There are QUITE a few writeups on the forum on how to activate these. (Note: don't wire them open).
Is your air pump removed?

Even if your aux ports were working PERFECTLY, they'd kick in around 3800 revs. Sound familiar? This is a rotary, the power band is pretty up there. If you want <4000 torque, try a V8
The reason we love rotaries is the uber high-revving engine with insane output curves as you start approaching 8K rpm. It's truly a great experience.

Generally, the air pump pumps air into your cat(s) to keep them operating properly. If you had a custom exhaust, I'd assume you ripped the cats out, most people do at least. If this is the case you don't need your air pump, and you could remove it, replace the alternator with a double pully and run another alternator belt.
