Whats wrong with my lock?

Ive been having trouble locking the car from the drivers side with the key and i cant figure out how to manually lock it without the key and everytime i slide the lock down it just keeps going back up. Is there any special way to lock it without the key or am i just screwed?

Push the little lock near the interior handle down. Hold the exterior handle to the open position and then close the door while holding the exterior handle open? Yes. Works fine every time.

if you mean... when u press it down, and then shut the door it pops back up? then that is normal, u must hold up on the outside handle when you shut the door with the lock down.

now if u mean u cannot physically push the lock down on your own then something with the linkage inside the door has messed up and you should pull off the door panel and see whats going on in there...

ya i think something might be wrong because when i hold the outside handle with the lock down the door doesnt close it just keeps popping up. damm that sucks cuz i replaced the door handle a while back because the actual handle snapped and i didnt see anything else broken inside the door.

I know it sucks but the only way to know for sure whats causing it, because that is not normal, is to take that damn door panel off again and inspect all of the rods and connections. Sounds to me like the wires for the handle sensor are in the way of the locking rod. If its not that then SOMETHING is in the way. Good luck, and let us know what you see when you take a look.

You might just take one look at it and have something jump right out at you, or it could take a while, but you'll get it.
