Whats the worlds fastest FC3s?
ive been doing searchers and fastest so far was 8 seconds i mean ive seen some videos of some beast FC's like a 3 rotor twin turbo but still no FC with that power came to a 7 second run i mean they should arent the lighter than a FD?
Rafaelito Racing (Rafael Rivero) has the worlds fastest 1/4 mile FC. It's powered by a carburated 13B (webber) with a large turbocharger and nitrous. It runs in the mid-7 second range. I can't remember it's best time though. I had a few videos of it on a CD but I don't have a way to post it.
And a third:
I have a good video of him racing Abel Ibarra and both of them hitting mid-7's. Abel got the lead but Rafaelito chased him down and just got him before the finish.
I think Abel ran 7.71 and Rafaelito 7.53

if it looks like a fc3s let it be one for goodness sake lol i mean if u wanna go into 7 second range of course its not gonna have the orignal body or anything close to how stock was i mean he shaved off what 9 seconds from a stock t2 ETA i think its pretty amazing. but of course a stock body running 7's would be insane to
Here is a listing and small pics of the 7 second cars in Peurto Rico.
Says that Rafaelito has run 7.66

I know in a recent interview he is building up another 13B, it is still going to be carburated, and he is hoping to run low 7.3's with it. If he can't run that fast (and have potential for more), he is either going fuel injected or 20B.
I'm trying to find some of his videos still but can't find my rotary collection cds yet. If I find it I'll post it.

Me and a bud used to have THOUSANDS of rotary and Rx-7 videos. Two days before we planned to back them up on a bunch of CDRs, his hard drive crashed and they were unrecoverable. This was one of the saddest days of my life... (well not quite, but it was pretty damn sad)
Right now I probably only have about 1000 good ones.

I think to say the fastest FC it would have to have the stock unibody with the obvious safety stuff like a cage with a S4 or S5 based engine. Hell I could stick my engine in an 1800lb car and run 9's all day.
1-Why does that car have a carb?
2-Why does that car have a distributer
I can't believe they are using that equipment to save money, so there must be a better reason. If he thinks he can run faster with FI then why hasn't he done it? Trying to proove something?
These are the first pics I have seen of a carbed turbo. Does anyone care to explain how it works. Does the carb suck in atmosphere at idle then close up under boost? I just can't seem to grasp the idea.

Turbo carbbed cars either have the turbo after the carb or before. In draw through set ups the carb works like a regular carb, always under vacuum but the turbo pressurises the a/f mixture. Gas can puddle in the ic, not the greatest.
In a blow through the carb gets pressurized and has to be in a sealed box.

carb is not faster. carbs are tuned to 1 point and only run very well in their small range... this is ok for drag racing, but ultimately a properly tuned FI system will have more top and and WAY more low end. but carb is a lot cheaper and easier.
Yeah I heard they're down in the 7's now too. It's amazing how fast the import drag times have dropped. I think that K&N painted FD is at least one car in the 7's lately.

Im from Puerto Rico and Rafaelito runs carbs for the simple reason.... its a popular way to do in PR.. and secondly.. very easy to tune...... cheaper also...
a lot of people also run the haltech throttle body system... or just haltech's wit 3rd gen intake manifold for improved flow...and bigger injectors...with plenty of dyno time on any setup...

edit: just look at Jesus Padilla for KiLO Racing .. his shop is down the block from my house here in orlando and he has a regular body 85 gsl-se runnin a 20b peripheral port holley carbed setup.. hes runnin a big 850 cc i believe... on a custom intake manifold.. custom exhaust manifold also.. doing a best of 10.04@ around 128 or 130... he builds good engines and he's kickin everybody *** in the n/a class not even the turboII's can F wit him..
oh and normally aspirated.. no nitrous either...full body and interior

Next year you aren't allowed to run 20B's in all-motor. He is dominating too bad! That's ok, his closest competition is 0.5 seconds behind, and it is a 13B powered 1st gen of Ken Sheepers. www.rx7.com might have some info on his car, they sponser it.
The K&N Painted one is Abel Ibarra's FD. His best time with a 13B in it was 7.35 seconds, which will probably stand as a 13B record for a while. He has a 20B now, and has finally sorted out the mechanical woes with it and is making some serious power. He will be in the high 6's before next fall.
