What's the right way to Drag a T2?

I launch at 6000rpm and shift at the buzzer, is this the right way of doing it to get the best times?

I've heard 3500 or so, right near the torque peak.

I don't drag though.

I dont know the exact point to shift but I do know that professional drag racers thier shift just after the HP and Tourque curves cross on the dyno sheet. anything else is just buring gas as your engine actually loses total power past that point. I know my NA feels like its out of breath at about 5000 rpm so Im shifting then. Then again Ive been racing cars in one form or another for almost 17 yrs now.

Oh YEA go on the last yellow not green

Your car should not feel like its out of breath that low. I have a lot of mods on mine, but my car doesnt feel like its running out of breath until 8500 rpm or so. But I still usually shift 7500-8000 after the 1-2 shift, which I take to about 8200. I would check to make sure your 6 ports are working. That would definately cause your car to be running out of breath by 5000. Also check to see if your cats are clogged.
