Whats a normal engine running temp in a 89-91 fc?
im going to be putting in a aftermarket temp gauge and then soon after doing a electric fan .. but to tune the thermostat for the fan i would like to keep the engine slightly more cooler than normal.. like 5 degree or something .. but whats a average running temp for the 13 b na

I tested mine wth my wifes cooking thermometer ( dont tell her). Mine was running about 175 degrees F.
I let it idle untill it got hot with the thermometer in the top hose T neck on the engine where the cap normally screws on.

set the fan at 190-195. you want it on as less as possible.
you can't get it any cooler then 185 as the engine thermostat will be closed. so you are just wasting power to the fan.
