I'm trying to figure out the paint color for my '89 S5 GXL. I've looked in the door jamb and under the hood to try to find the color code, but i haven't been able to find it. After doing some research, i saw that for '89 it looks like the color code is WY, which is noble white. However when I went to another site it listed 2 whites, WY and UC for noble white and crystal white. So I'm pretty confused. Which white is correct?

 

You should have a plate under the hood on the passenger side of the firewall (just below the wiper) that shows your paint code. I hope that helps, because I have no clue which white is which.

Thanks! I found it. It's WY as I suspected. What I gather is that 89 models had WY and 90+ models had WY and UC.

 

I thought his was a 89 so wouldn't it be 86-88 if its WY?
