Atlanta Ga - Mitchell SD with a stop in Minneapolis
left at 9:30am drove till 2:30 am or so is when we hit minne. then the next day i left minne at 11am and arrived in my garage space at 4am give or take a few.
The car needed a serious tune up after I got it home from purchasing it from the semi sketchy but nice guy.
otherwise. it's seen the mitchell, sd to minne i think 2 times since.

st louis to gulf shores alabama (clutch went out about 6 hours out of mobile) to get going had to put it in first, start car then synch shifts...real fun!! then from gulf shores to sanibel island sw fla. then back to st louis. stayed 4 days in alabama then 10 days in sanibel. drove em all straight through no stops other than gas and food. what a fun trip..i was able to sit sideways in the seat while driving and play alot of cards...if i had to do that stuff again id make some hotel arrangements this time..oh yeah and id bring an extra clutch too!!

I drove from Evansville Indiana to Lincoln Nebraska in my 87 NA that I got for 99 bux.
Round trip was about 1500 miles. I did it all in 2 days. I had no problems at all!
The car had 137K on it too!
This was 844 miles into the trip:

I drove mine home.. From Wheeling WV to Springfield MO
both times I had to stop an hour off the interstate (70)... so Im figuring 1000 miles one way..
Did it in my 87 GXL with brand new struts.. Was a lot of fun.. Averaged close to 90 from Indianapolis to St. Louis. no tickets.
Was comfy.. Got really close to 28 mpg in my automatic
Id do it again this year but the car's heater core is being icky
The sunbirds goin this year

Nort of Seattle to SF and back, following the coast all the way down, and again back to Eureaka, crossing the Mtns to I5 (was trying to save time, wound up spending 5 hrs to end up further south than I started out) On I5 I got over 27mpg with the windows down and roof open. Parts of Hwy 1 saw arround 15 mpg. Definately making an annual pilgrimage to that Hwy. (almost 300 mi of autocross)

Before you guys intend to drive any long distances perhaps you should take a short trip to your local elementary school and have a teacher explain to you what a "joke" is..
It may not have been funny, but man, it was a joke!
ok, that was mean, I apologize..

Allright guys interesting post I think you realy need to enter a real road race to test the rex!
I did 8 countrys in 5 days 3000 miles 69 rides started only 56 made it I was in the only rex and came 25th.
check out thecannonball.co.uk for 2003 event
for 2002 check cannonballruneurope.co.uk
I am there in the results and I cant wait for this years event. 3500 miles.
I also enjoyed chasing a DB7 at 165mph through switzerland and spending the day on the IMOLA circuit in ITALY.

I drove from Albany, NY to San Diego, CA.......7 Days over 3,000 miles just me the rex and all my stuff ( i was moving to SD)........drove about 8-10 hours a day stopping in Vegas for 2 days.........lots and lots of fun especially on those long desert highways nothign like cruise control at 100+ mph.........but i was only gettin like 18mpg in my N/A
drove from portland, OR...to dallas then to NC....then 3300 miles from Wilson NC to Wilsonville OR.....and drove 23hours straight on my FC from omaha to portland.....1750 miles nonstop
To Illinois a few times. ~1100 miles, round trip. Takes me between 7 and 9 hours one way depending on how many stops I make.
By the time I get there, or back, my *** is numb. I'd probably be more comfortable on my CBR. The old, worn out suspension bushings make the car a handful at interstate speeds, it wants to dart in either direction like it has too much toe out, really annoying. The lack of storage space also sucks.

3 hours, Queens NY, to Cape May NJ.
long rides suck in these cars.
-gas milage is horrible
-constant droning of the exhaust gives you a headach.
-no room
only good thing is you get there alittle quicker =)

I did a day trip to philly YEARS ago when I first got the car...and back the same day. Other than that I used to go to and from college (SUNY Albany) till I got the GVR4) in the rex w/ it's first mods (ST linear springs (ouch) KYB's), 16's & full exhaust). about 200 miles each way, good gas mileage (bout 24mpg) and loads of fun!! I drove back from albany once w/ toasted rear brakes so i can swap them myself and not have to pay outta the nose @ school
I took my 89 gxl from p-cola fl to myrtle beach sc left at 9am our time got to myrtle beach 10pm their time then on to pittsburgh pa. Going through Charolette my master cylinder went out, and i had to change it out in the parking lot of advance auto parts.
