whats "high imp, low imp" injectors?

read through that...should clear it up a bit. its towards the end of the thread...so dont stop reading just cause you dont see it at first
basically the ECU wants high impedance injectors, but Mazda used low impedance injectors in the older cars and put a resistor on them....then realized that was stupid and just went with high impedance....
and....straight from dictionary.com
Impedance - Symbol Z A measure of the total opposition to current flow in an alternating current circuit, made up of two components, ohmic resistance and reactance, and usually represented in complex notation as Z = R + iX, where R is the ohmic resistance and X is the reactance. An analogous measure of resistance to an alternating effect, as the resistance to vibration of the medium in sound transmission.

This is all dependent on the type of drive circuit the ECU is capable of supporting. For the S4 and S5 N/A ECUs, they all use Saturated style injection circuits, but the impedence is set forth in different ways. Early S4 till 87.5 they used low impedence injectors with resistors, after 87.5 it was just plain high impedance injectors.
Peak and hold are the low impedance injectors ran in that mode. They have a faster response time, and are considered to be more accurate. But you need an ecu (such as a Haltech) to run them in this mode.

The resistance of injectors falls into two basic ranges; the low resistance, usually around 2.9ohms, is the 'peak and hold' type of injector where the opening current is higher than the current required to hold the injector open.

If you want them to be "drop in", then look for rectangular plug, offset key, high-impedence, top-feed ND-type fuel injectors...
