What's causing Jumpy tach and beeping noise coming from dash (intermittent problems)
Ok my car is a 2nd gen na, the tach is recently starting to jump when I am idling and when the car is under load.
The car will also make a beeping sound, sometimes a long steady beeeeeeep constantly then will stop after a while , it will start doing it as soon as I turn the key in the ignition (not even starting the car).
As a side note, my car doesn't have the o2 sensor hooked up because the wiring got melted on my header.
Car is streetported na s4 (1986-1988), and has 5/6 ports removed as well as a full exhaust/intake...it may likely have coolant seal issues even tho the motor only has 20k miles on it (overheated accidently when i first installed motor several times due to not knowing my clutchfan was bad) , but i doubt the problems are related.
Oh and for the record, the car just started having the issue with the tach the beeping noise has always been an issue but it's not until recently that it has gotten worse.

Tach signal comes from your ignition coils check your wires from coil to tach or ignition system.
Beeping, could be many things. If everything else is fine on your car it could possibly be bad soldering joints in the ECU or air in the coolant, power steering, ect... Search here and you will find more on the beeping/buzzer.
