i figure well laugh at each others misfortune...
there was the guy who stripped out a leading sparkplug hole and needed a rebuild.
then i was spraying out my engine bay and shorted out my wiring harness...yeah about that...

Lets see .......... My first rx7, payed $2k for it and drove it for 6 months. Then it died, I had a broken leg so couldnt fix it myself. It sat until we moved which was 4 months, so I had to get rid of it for $250. A week later after I had moved, a friend tells me he seen it driving. First thing I thought about was, oh yeah he said he thinks its the coil packs. FFS.

efan not installed with proper spacers. every time we hit a bump the metal clip holding the blades on the pin from the motor, well the metal clip scraped the fins.

I had to replace the master cylinder for my clutch, low and behold the 2 nuts under the dash were....guess.......STRIPPED, stupid mechanic, took me 3 and a half hours of my *** on the ground and my back on the floor of my car with my hands up under my dash because there wasnt enough space inbetween the nut and the surrounding **** for me to get a stripped nut remover in there PLUS a socket wrench PLUS the stripped nut remover had to be DEEP cuz of the dam screw that went into it.

Anyway I finally got the old master cylinder off only to figure out that NOBODY in my area (Carson California) had a stock master cylinder. 3 Kragens 2 Auto zones 2 NAPA's.... so i had to order one and come back the next day pick it up pay for it.... put it on and BLEED the son of a bitch which took forever..

GOD DAMN CLUTCHES TO HELL!!!

I'm not sure I should say this ...

I've blown my freshly rebuilt engine because of a missing washer.

when i got my tii it was blown and i used a 19mm to check for that. i took all manafolds and turbo off. and viewed the blown rotor threw the exhaust manafold. a day after doing so i went to use a 19mm to spin it over to make myself more depressed. engine wouldnt turn but 3/4 of a turn in either direction
when i took it apart i found a nut in it.

now i always use a 19mm to check. and paper towles in the ports

Went to replace the pulleys with a serpetine kit (the hub on the E-shaft pulley needs to be removed). A 30 min job turned into a 6 hour job, just because I forgot to hold the hub\counter weight key while removing the hub...

BAM, ended up having to remove the front cover!!!

To add to the insult, when everything was said and done, the e shaft front bolt copper washer was squashed upon reassembly

the light switch fried
ordered a new one plus the hd relay from icemark
upon pulling things apart I found the lighting harness was fried at one end
clipped in a known good end (and the relay) I got from a friend
didn't work
ordered a new lighting harness, undid the realy from the old harness put it on the new
works great
EVERY peice of plastic I touched broke, especially the ones that hold the guage cluster surround in place
so now there are frankenstein looking things made of nuts and washers sticking out of the dash over the guage cluster
3 month ordeal where I couldn't drive the car at night

Well it did spend over a year without moving before I bought it but other than that who knows, rust isn't rare over here.

Someone clue me in on the 19mm thing...maybe I missed a thread on it. It's probably something obvious, but tell me anyway.

Oh, and mark up another one under the "spacer wedged behind bearing" column.

^Spinning the engine with a 19mm wrench to make sure it's turning freely before starting it.

i have personally seen a rotor from an engine whose owner tried to install traditional spark plugs, then started it. it was a mess.
