what's the BAC for???

what's the purpose of the Bypass Air Control?

the bac valve? It introduces more air into your intake system at idle speeds whenever you turn on your AC or the power steering is used.

so what happens if it's absent and I turn on the AC. Will the car turn off?

your idle will get lower. if your idle is low to begin with it may shidder and stall.

The ASV is what adds air when the PS is used...Not the BAC.

I have no ps or ac. does that meen there will be no ill efects upon removing it and snipping the connector outta there? (Assuming i deal with the coolant line of course!)

do not just cut the connector. hide it if you want with someelectrical tape.
