What is your temperature gauge at when driving?

Curious how high does your temp gauge get to while driving? Mine is at less than a quarter. Oh yeah guess this is mostly for NA people. Just wondering if my thermostat is gone or not? When replacing thermostat I have to drain my coolant?

S4 cars go up 1/3 of the way.
S5 cars go up 1/2 of the way.

About 180*F

The stock temp guage (S5) is horribly wrong.... it has 3 positions, cold, normal, and crispy engine...

unreliable, if your stock gauge is anything except 1/2 way up when the engine is warm......change the thermostat or the gauge itself

I have a S5 TII. The temp guage on it is right under half way when at normal operating temp. The old S5 I had
wasn't turbo and it went to half way, when at normal operating temp. maybe thermo was bad on the old S5

Stays at about 1/4 of the way when driving, and barely budges when idleing.

3/4 beacue its screwed and reads high like my gas guage, which had half a tank at 3/4 on guage. but my real temp gauage reads 180 normally, and 190 in hard driving( sometimes a lil higher depend on when i run up on another car on my favorite mountain road)

I have an 86 N/A that normally reads a little over half at idle, then if I drive hard it gets to about 3/4. I have a 16 inch e-fan and a stock radiator without the shroud. I'm thinking of cutting the shroud to fit the e-fan. I hope the temp goes down. It's a rebuilt motor with about 2200 miles on it. I think I need to get a better radiator.

are you sure the fan is turning on early enough? You might try flushing the radiator.
