what are your m's per g?

i did quite a bit of highway driving yesterday. 70 miles to allen and about 70 back. most of the rest of my driving was city. filled up, and for the first time ever, figured my mpg. i got ~15mpg. pretty sad considering the car is essentially stock. it has a cone filter. *sigh*

Driving like normal in the city - about 12 mpg

Drivin like a grandma in the city - 15-17 mpg

Only 3/4 of the way thru this tank and mostly highway miles, albiet boosting most of those highway miles - 19 mpg.

Change your o2 sensor and your plugs. The o2 sensor could be the biggest culprit. My mpg increased a bit when I changed mine, and that's adding the downpipe and exhaust at the same time. Might get a bit better after Steve tunes the Power FC.

i have a new O2 sensor, fairly new plugs and wires. and by fairly new, i mean like 5,000 miles or so. the O2 sensor was over $160 at mazda, so i bought one for a different vehicle and spliced it in.

my car has gotten a record low of about 6mpg out at MSR for a day...

Normal city driving (pretty hard at that) come out to about 15, and the record for this car now sits at 23.

I got 27mpg out of my 85, but it had a taller 5th gear ratio.... anyone beat that?

um- well, i used to get about an average of 11 mpg romping on it and a record of 26 on one tank when i drove back from chicago, but that was with the stock 12a that had exhaust.

now, um, lets just leave it at "rather shitty" for normal driving, with a bit of "****** deplorable" mixed in when i'm on it . (4 at the worst, 15 has been the best).

When I get my bridgeported 20B single turbo FC going (over a year from now) I'll have to test out some MPG numbers just to make you guys feel like efficiency kings

I'm hoping I can get over 15 mpg highway - think I can do it? I think I can
When I'm hammering on it, who cares... 3? 5? 8? Whatever!!!

hey.. eric and i are of the 1st gen persuasion, wtf!?!

my car doesn't even weigh enough to be in the 2nd gen specific forum..

i thought it was a "how crappy is your rotary's mpg" in general.

We had one 2nd gen response, 2 3rd gens, and 2 1st gens when it was moved... WTF?

This is hard to say because most of the time when I drive my car I am at full throttle . On the track I am getting 8 or so mpg . But when I went to Sevenstock this year I got approx 17mpg.

well on sunday me and a coupla other RX7 buddies went on a road trip nice and rainy so no boosting , and I ended up getting like 240 miles from only 13.4 gal wich comes out to 17.9 by far the best I've gotten, my fuel gauge is fubar, I fill up half way down the 1/4 mark, and my top half of my tank goes by in about 40-60 miles , my fuel never goes all the way to full though, only a tad over 3/4s and when I changed my my fuel pump the floater didn't seem bent, but I don't know...

27mpg is my best, mostly freeway at 70 but some city mixed in.

17 is my worst when I let a friend drive it who went crazy with it.
