what you think of my sizes for wheels?

hey

I used the wheel offest calculator and it gave me these results:

The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 1mm MORE
The outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 39mm

The rims I am planning on putting on the car are 18x8.5 with 20 offset.
Think this will look alright or should I try and go smaller in the front?

thanks, any feedback is apreciated
matt

just a suggestion. I have 18's on my fc, and i noticed a big power loss, so my suggestion is go with 17's, trust me. Unless you have a reason for 18's

My reason is simple, everyone has 17's so I would rather have 18's. I love the power that I have right now but I'm willing to sacrifice some for looks. Im not that big into performance, I just like it to look nice and have a bit of go . But thanks for the suggestion.

Go smaller in the front. I have a 17x8 +25, and it is quite close to the outside of the front fender with a 225 tire.

There is really no reason to go larger than 8" wide in the front with stock fenders, because you can't get much more than a 235 or 245 tire in there anyway.

He never mentioned tire size.

I meant to say this rims will fit.
I didn't say it will fit with any tire size.

i'm trying to picture it, but here's all i have to go by

i'm running the stock 16x7 TII wheels with 245/45. tire to fender clearance is a problem but only under heavy bump. oh, this is with a 5mm spacer to clear the strut. so, using this information, i would have to guess that an 8 inch wide rim should have a 30 offset.
an 8 inch rim with a 35mm offset would yield the same thing as i have now, so take another 5 mm off to get a little more fender clearance and boom...+30. this will put the tire as far out as possible without hitting the fender.
now, if you were to run 235's or 225's the offset should be 25 and 20mm respectively.

hehe i was just expecting him to want to fill up those wheels with meaty tires. i know some guys can run 245's with minor problems, and there there are the tires that have the "rim protector" like mine that will rub in 225's

ok i took some of your advice. I'm going to run 18x8.5 in the rears and 18x7.5 in the fronts for rims. For tires I was thinking about going with 225 in the front and 255 in the rear.
thanks
anymore feedback is always good
