What is wrong with the BOMEX body kit??

Im just curious why some people think the BOMEX kits for FC are the worst body kits. Tax return just came in the mail and im now thinking of perhaps getting a nice body kit for my 87TII in the future. I was leaning towards the replica GTC fronts but i dont know if they are done with the production. My second choice is the BOMEX kit.

IMO i don't like the bomex kit, especially the front bumper,
side skirts are ok but i think my stock ones are just fine
the only kits/bumper/spoiler i would ever consider are

east bear -- clean looking, similar to stock bumper but little more aggressive, also bigger air inlet for intercooler/radiator/oil cooler etc

RE amemiya -- needless to say

front spoiler add on to stock bumper are good also, like the FEED one but the clearance is kinda low, and i tend to scratch the buttom when going over bumper and etc, and i always hit the parking stall, god damn it i need to repair my stock front lip again soon

and yeah...one of the reason i don't like the bomex front bumper is because they take out the FTP lense, i think they look cool on our cars

I got the full Bomex kit, it just got into town yesterday and I'm picking it up at the trucking terminal today. I'll let you know what I think of the quality after I get it home and check it out. I'll also be installing the East Bear headlight kit which is sceduled to be delivered tomorrow.

500 bucks for the headlights is actually not bad at all if you look at the Japanese kits. I like the Bomex kit, and might get it for my drifter since it isn't super agressive so I can slam it to the ground <maximum drift control.

Paid $1100 for the Bomex kit from Rotor Motorsports. The big surprise was the shipping, they told me around $250 but when I picked it up today it was only $103, thats from California to Virginia.

Yes I have an N/A

I posted some pics of the kit at My Pictures

Like I said, the East Bear kit is due tomorrow on UPS, hopefully going to the body shop next week for install and full paint job.

There are better kits than the Bomex, but the price for the Bomex kit is pretty good. It's a better kit than the Erebuni or Kaminari that are around the same price.

So how's your T2 doiing Jeff? Mine is up on stands with 4 spare tires. I'm selling the Prelude rims. I put it on stands so the suspension won't settle. Even though I bought another car, I'll have enough money by like November to do my rebuild. I'm going to buy the Bronze Volk SE37K's too. Still coming back!

Yeah, I just hope she realizes what a great dad I really am

This projects getting rather expensive, but I look at it kinda like the Mastercard commercial

Body kit = $1100
Wheels & Tires = $1400
Suspension = $1050
Wrench time with teenage daughter = priceless

JAYBR what a lucky daughter you have!..
Pls post some pics of the kit when you get them. A friend of mine that works at a local RICE shop whatever you guys call them will be hooking my up for the kit. He can get the whole kit for 850.00 Im getting so much support for this project. Another friend of mine is now offering to paint the car with no charge as long as i do the prepping.

MIKE (AETURBO!) I finally got all the parts i need for the project (engine wise). I just ordered my Bosch 160lbs injectors today. The pump will be ordered next week. All i need now is to get my lazy *** and start working on the engine.
Im glad that you will be runnin soon! I hope to get my project done by then.. Perhaps we can have both our cars seat together at a car show.

Haha, definitely! I don't think mine will be show ready until maybe another year after the rebuild. I still have to get it repainted and have the interior redone. But at least it will be running (and better than ever) by the end of the year...

Jaybr, that's pretty cool that you work on the car with your daughter. I know I'll be doing that when I have kids...like a few decades from now.

I like the Bomex kit. I think it would look good an either a black or dark grey FC.

I guess in the end, it's what you like.

I like the nose and the fenders but I hate the rear. the nose looks like it could be stock. which is what I like. the fenders don't flare toom uch it seems. I want wider fenders for larger tires but I don't want the look of a wide body. I only want an 1" or 1.5" out, and still look stock. I like the reear of the stock bummper best. I have considered sides but I don't know. if there is gains in aerodynamics yeah, but not for looks. I still have yet to find a wing that looks better than the Mazda MotorSports. it looks good and doesn't do anything wierd.
just my nickel

I hope I don't need jspec turn signals, I don't have any and I'm hoping to get the kit on next week and a paint job.

There are holes for the license plate with brass inserts.

I like the bomex, but I'm going with a single exhaust so the rear wrap around will look horrible with two huge holes cut and only one 3" tip, and I have daytime running lights that shine through the FTP's which aren't on the Bomex nose. I think I've settled on the corksport front, but still looking for everything else.
