Where would one obtain the aero package? I've heard of it, but haven't really looked into it. I wouldn't mind the "hatch handle" effect of the spoiler either.

I'm looking into new tires, because my current ones are a bit cracked on the edges (I guess from sun & such), and the right side leaks.

I do love the amount of power left at 75-80mph - 5th is still respectable, and a quick downshift to 4th leads to some good solid acceleration to well beyond where I reasonably want to take it.

How does one install the MSD system on a 2nd gen (and how much does it cost)? Can I tie into the stock ignition sensors & such, or do I have to do a lot of work getting it in? Most of the information was in the 1st gen forum, which doesn't help me any.

And with the Pineapple inserts, they're locktited, and nicely "dinged" - by the time they come out, I won't have an engine left to matter. Either it will have rusted to pieces, or will have blown up with such force that my inserts will be the last of my concerns.

You might want to put a new 02 sensor on your car, or make sure your car has one. I've gotten 30mpg @~80 MPH in my 87 N/A. Also, even if you don't go on the track I'd save up about $800-$900 and buy KYB AGX shocks, Eibcah prkit Springs, and Polyurethane suspension bushings. the car will be so much MORE fun to drive.

I can duplicate SonicRat's fuel economy also, at 75 mph...Although I don't think I've ever hit 31...I consider these cars better for highway driving than city driving anyway...Plenty of "go-go" even at 75
The only state I got 31 in, was Ohio. I drove a total of about 1300 miles in Ohio, and every time it was 31mpg. I loved that state, gas was $1.72 (compared to $2.09 in NY ), and I got such better gas mileage than the other states. 3 times I got 31, so it wasn't just a single fluke. Now that I'm back up north, I generally get 26-29. City driving with my GTUs sucks though, it'll generally drop to 15-16.

I think in NY you have to buy that reformulated gas during most of the year. It generally runs 1mpg less than standard blends

Interesting. High 20s to low 30s for gas milage at high speeds is certainly respectable for pretty much any car, and probably near the top of 10-20 year old cars.

What exactly does the aero kit consist of? I know it has a spoiler, and some other pieces.

Aero Kit details.

The sport aero kit is the front lip, the deflectors before the rear wheels and rear spoiler. there is also an extra aluminum underpan behind the standard polypropylene one to fill and streamline the space under the engine bay.

The stock RX7 has a drag coefficient of 0.31 and a rear end lift factor of 0.14; the aero package reduces the overall drag coefficient to 0.29 and improves the rear end lift factor greatly, reducing it to 0.07. Thats why the duck bill spoiler rules supreme.

'This is found in the yamaguchi rx7 book.

As for seats, I would go with turbo seats, seriously when I sat in my buddy Matt's GXL with a turbo seat it was like holy **** this is comfy LOL. I wouldsay the sport spoiler would be excellent due to lower drag. As for thr drone, getting the RB catback would eliminate that. Even if you just got the mufflers and put them on the stock y pipe. On my GXL 3200-3300rpm is about 80mph. Synthetic in the trans and rear end will help out too and if you want to spend the money, synthetic oil may net you little better mileage as well. I drove from MD to ID in my packed FB with no cruise control and drove back in a Uhaul with none so yeah that sucks hardcore LOL

stay away from low profile tires, get some adj. suspension (soft for cruising and adj for track adj.), SAFC, upgrade all the stock speakers and stereo, maybe add some tweeters, AC/Heat is a must, tint your windows to keep the sun out but keep it the legal %, You mentioned the presilencer and midpipe but do you have the header and catback?
