What would you pay for Crown Vic wheels?

I have an opportunity to buy a brand new, never mounted set of crown vic wheels for my FC. He is asking 550 shipped, but I would be picking them up as I live only about an hour away. The question is what would you offer?

I'd call UPS and get a quote on how much it'd cost to ship something so heavy, and then deduct that from his asking price.

When I shipped wheels it was usually $30/wheel or so

Then I'd just round down to $400 and see what he says. I'd say he'd take it, or maybe bring you back up to $450. If he wants more than $450 when you are picking them up and not having them shipped, I'd say he's an unreasonable ***.

$100 per wheel is a bit steep, but then again they're brand new in the box.

For used wheels, I'd find it hard to deviate from my local scrapyard where alloy wheels go for $35 a piece and Crown Vics are always there.

Yeah, it seems expensive but then I thought where else can I get brand new wheels for under 500 bucks. I have been calling junk yards around here since December with no luck finding the wheels. I may just have to break down and buy the new ones.

You're welcome.

EDIT:
Just looked where you're located. That might not help as much as I thought it would; It helps to be in a major metropolitan area.

I wouldnt give more than $400 as stated above. There are so many of those wheels that the chances of you findin some nice ones for cheap are pretty good

AZ

I paid $200 for mine in semi new condition without tires. They sell for about 100 each at wrecking yards. I work for a wrecking yard and can locate them fairly easy in your area let me know.

I Could buy a set right now used for 280 shipped. There's also a set for 145$ with tires(shitty size and make) but still. There's a few more sets for 300-350 around Ontario with Vic sized tires as well. Most people selling these dont sell them without tires. I'd only pay up to 300 shipped for a used set and maybe 500 shipped for a new set.
