What would you guys do... ? Need help decision making..

I have really been thinking about what I want to do about my FC. Basically, Im getting a little bored with the power its making. So as Ive been doing, Ive been planning a major N/A buildup, to try and make a pretty fast N/A. Ive been thinking about just buying a Turbo2, but my N/A is in extremely nice shape, paint and interior are near perfect. Plus I have a Full Tokico suspension setup on it, as well as wheels and other mods. So I thought about swapping a Turbo2 Driveline into my N/A, since the body and everything are in such nice shape, and I could not afford a Turbo2 as in good condition as my N/A is. Now, I have Brand new S5 N/A rotors (yes, I said NEW ) and a 89 GTUs 4.3 rear end, as well as my good running N/A engine that I could sell, and probably have close to enough for the entire swap components. So what would you guys do, swap into my extermely clean N/A, or look for a T2? Thanks

How much power are you looking for? How much money do you have to play with? The turbo engine will obviously have more potential, but not as reliable as a good ol' N/A. You're pretty limited with the 6-port. Realistically, based on porting, you'll probably get about 180-200 RWHP from the 6-port. I got bored with 300 RWHP on my FD.

Im not looking for a ton of power. I was shooting for ~200ish RWHP, and pulling high 13s with my N/A. But I realize that 250rwhp is nothing but bolt-ons for a Turbo2 engine, and thats kind of temping..

I just spoke with atkins, they have in the works a system to use the stock fuel injection and throttle system with their supercharger...

they gave me an estimated price for the kit of around 3 - 3.5 k when they are done building it...

that might be too much for you, but would certainly give a lot of power and let you keep what you have now

or for about 2500 you can do their carbed setup with a 5 inch supercharger

Was there any estimated release date for that supercharger kit?? Id be willing to spend $3k on a full bolt on kit that still allowed me to keep the stock EFI system... Supercharger would kick *** IMO, especially for guys like me that arent shooting for crazy power.. The only reason I dont like the carb setup is because of emissions restrictions in my area..

hey id go with the t2 swap....i have an 86 N/a base with 83k on the meter........the car was immaculate when i got it two years ago.....and i men immaculate.....then i decided to break the handles crack the idiot gauge cluster put passengers in the back and break the pl;astic back there.....i got an 8 foot boa constrictor stuck in the spare well and now the trunk release barely opens.....decided to run my differential with no fluid now it cries like she is being raped.......changed th whole suspension in the rear and come to find out i was just missing a bolt on my sway bar, what else....hit the wall at burger kind at the drive thru.......fender was already dented from my foray into fort worth.......and the other dings....and i decided my gold wasnt good enough so i got the earl schweib 200 dollar black OVER my stock perfect gold and my dorr jambs are still gold......ah but i can dream and she will be nice....i love my RX7, we have been thru alot together....and i consider my car to be the chassis......throw another engine in thats fine....and i plan to but i am way to attatched to MY rx7 to be getting another.....but on one hand......how much power are we talking with this supercharger? and for 3.5 k id rather swap in an old t2 for a lil over a grand and build it up with the rest of the money.....im at a loss to think of how an SC could give more power

From the atkins site:

All numbers are subject to change depending on manifold, exhaust, ignition, porting, etc. We used a 390cfm holley for carburetion.

A supercharger cant give you more power than a turbo2 engine, for the most part. But ~275HP would be great with me, and its worth it not to have to swap out my entire driveline. Hopefully the N/A stuff can handle that ok.

Ok, I emailed Camden Superchargers and asked them when they think the kits will be available, as well as price and estimated HP numbers. Ill post up as soon as I hear anything. Im really excited about this, Ive always wanted a S/C setup. Ive been looking for a used Nelson/Paxton kit, but to no avail. This would be great!
