what would it take to get my NA FC into the low 13's?

hey guys,

i had a random thought today,

entering in my local dragstrip.. (the street class rwd 4-6 cyls no power adders)

the only real challenge in this class is a couple 350z's and S2000's...

they're usually in the mid 13's...

i was thinking. since competition in this area is pretty thin.. perhaps i could win...

what would it take for me to get low 13's NA?

at the moment i have RB headers, Apexi N1 and a cone filter...

i'd like to keep the car streetable tho.. so now 1,500 idle barely idling bridgeports plz

i was thinking:

stand alone
clutch/flywheel
e-fan
UD pulley's
lose all the acc.. AC PS AirPump,
strip interior
TII hood
TII tranny/diff?
Crane cams Hi-6
Suspension
Sticky rubber
S4 LIM S5 UIM
ported TB etc

the motor still has great compression and low mileage.. it would be a shame to split it open just to port it at this point in time...

what do you guys think?

PP port...or bridgeport

Basicly.....your gonna have to port to get those numbers without a crazy shot (destructive) of n20.

I'm at 191 rwhp in my Fc....with my mods.

never got timeslips...waiting for the summer strip to open up

My mechanic (Chris..Banzai Racing) says that you need more than 50 to really feel anything. Anything above 100 is probably going to severly shorten the life of your engine- my opinion

the biggest thing is weight, you'll only be able to get so much power (if you want to still even come close to streeting the car)

so gut cut chop and slash....

YOU CAN'T RUN NITROUS IN A NO POWER ADDER CLASS.

IT'S a FREAKING POWER ADDER.

Guess I should have read through the whole thing. Thanks for the caps you got the point across..

Wow that's definately going to be a huge challenge and I can't see how the car will be streetable after what it would take to get to 13.999

how about I rephrase

how many HP would it take to get a gutted S4 into the mid to low 13's

if a heavy *** S2k (1250-1300 kg) can do it with 240hp and basic boltons..

why can't a lighter 13B powered car do it?

^^ you have to remember too, that that does not calculate for driver error(obviously) or altitude. run a huge bridge port and c16 race fuel. you will need a lot i think. my n/a was an 86 sport(light weight) gutted(less weight) with a street port, all the common bolt ons(ign, intake, header) and a 50hp shot of n2o and it ran 14.4 at 5800 feet. with a 60' time of around 1.9-2.0. depressing in a way but average 1/4 time at our junky strip is low 16's and 15 is actually respectable. and 50hp bump with n2o and you can definitely feel it if the bottle is warm. cant feel a thing if you dont have a bottle ehater.

toruqe...

plus to even achieve 240 at the flywheel on an N/A would require some serious porting
