What would make my idle do this?

Okay, here's what happened...

I was driving down a back road, my friend in tow in his "new" GXL...anyways, when we get to a stop sign, I chirp the tires, and then when I slow to make a left turn into a parking lot, my car starts going brap, brap, brap, like I'm blipping the throttle every second or two. It drove normally, but whenever I stopped or clutched, it would do the whole blip thing again.

I stop at my work (which was around the corner - me and my friend [who happens to be one of my employees] were going to show some other guys still at work - anyways), shut it off, then restart it, thinking it might be a loose ground. It still did it.

I popped the hood, and messed with the throttle, seeing if maybe the cable was getting hung up on something - no good. Then my friends suggests messing with the idle adjust screw. So I do, and it settles down alsmot immediately, like the screw had worked it's way out some.

Anyone ever ahd this happen to them, or have any idea why it would do that?

my friend thought that maybe my exhaust noise had vibrated it down some (N1 HP Racing mufflers, sets off alarms at 3k)

You're right - that idle bleed scew shouldn't move by itself.
I suspect a small vac leak has openen up somewhere.
Maybe the EGR valve?

Gunk in the throttle body or dirt on the ajdustment set screw... I had mine do this too after sitting for a while... if the throttle plates do not close all the way, it really messes things up

If it happens again.. clean your throttlebody
