What would be the best tranny fluid solution to this...

Well, My tranny just isn't like a hot knife through butter.....
It requires a good deal of effort to crank it from 1-2, and if you do it slowly, it gives a few notches of grinding....2-4 is the same, and 3-4 is better. Really notchy
I think maybe the synchros are a little worn...
What sort of fluid have people really liked?
Straight sythetic, or any special additives with regular fluid?
Now, is the synchros are worn, and they are slipping a bit, wounldn't a friction additive like for limited slip diff's work? Seems like it would make more sense than a very "slippery" solution...
Let's hear your opinions...
What sucks is that my '79 had shorter thows, and much smoother, solid feel.

A lot of people love Redline MT90 (their 75W-90 equivalent).

I personally just switched mine from whatever was in there to Valvoline SynPower 75W-90. Before, going into 2nd gear was notchy for the first ten minutes of driving, now it's only notchy for the first shift into 2nd. So, it certainly helped a fair amount.
