What is this wire for?
I have a disconnected green/black wiring comming out of the harness near where the secondary injector wires and a couple wires to the ACV come out. Looking at the wiring diagram, it could be either the neutral switch (not likely since it's far from the transmition, and I would think the car wouldn't start if the neutral switch was open), or a variable resistor. The variable resistor is show in the FSM next to the TPS, and the G/B wire shown there attaches to pin 2F on the ECU.
Can anyone verify if this is the correct wire? If so, where is this variable resistor, and what is its purpose?
Thanks!
P.S. Just replaced my battery ground and engine to chassis ground. My 3800 rpm hesitation seems to be gone. Also, the car doesn't seem to have the small backfire when shifting above 3800 anymore.

On second thought, the variable resistor probably has a three-prong connector, and this is a single wire with a black (if I remember correctly) connector.
Oh, and the car is an '88 GXL.

A single green/black wire would be for the aux fan temp sensor that would be located in the top part of the water filler neck. IF you don't have one there then the green/black goes nowhere. Just tie it back out of the way.
The variable resistor is used for the idle mixture. Its just aft of the afm/filet assy.
