Well I gutted my cats and I dont like the sound, I really wish I didnt do it cause now I have to buy a main cat in 2 years when I go through smog.

I gotta do something about the racket, but I dont have more than about 500 bux to spare on this exhaust job.

I was thinking of getting an RB DP and presilencer for a precat and maincat replacement. This DP Im looking at has 2.5" OD tubing and a hole for the O2 sensor.

This setup claims 1-2psi of boost over stock and a 26hp increase from a stock tII system. It only costs $245.00 + shipping directly from www.racingbeat.com. Is this a good thing?? BTW I already have an FCD.




I really wanted to go with the full rb turbo back system, but I do not want to risk boost creep and put much more $$$$ into the motor (fuel mods) at least until I do a rebuild (high miles as is, dont wanna blow it up 2 days after the rb system).

I think I have exactly what you are talking about. Its item 16207 on this site, about half way down the page http://www.mazdatrix.com/r-extii.htm That little item got me a small hair from 8psi with the stock intake and stock mufflers. With a K and N intake I hit 10psi and on my car fuel cut comes in about 9 and 1/2 psi and sometimes at 10psi. BUT it is very controlable. You can avoid the fuel cut area if you pay attention. Not that hard to do. Its very reasonable in the area of noise.

Hailers, do you think I will really see 26 hp increase? Also, does the O2 sensor just screw right in or do I have to cut a hole?

I can get you that system for even less, but I'll reccommend getting the 3" downpipe and presilencer. This is the good one, just ask anyone.

I got about 50 peak hp more with my full 3" turbo back system. I must say it is the best thing I ever did. I would highly suggest getting the FCD as well to ensure that you don't go into fuel cut.

Also, the presilencer will NOT bolt onto the stock y-pipe. You should get the RB one, it's cheap and then it will work. You'll be able to bolt your stock mufflers up to that.

Let me know if you want better pricing on this stuff. I help out the distressed rotary owner as much as possible. hehe. That's me to the tee, always got **** to do to them.

It says on rb's web site that 16207 bolts directly to the stock turbo and stock ypipe. I think you are talking about a complete 3" turbo back system broken up into components.

Well, rb wants $245 + shipping for the 16207 parts
