I removed this from my car b/c it had a broken hose on it. My idle was rough before and is still rough. It was on the passenger side of the intercooler. You can see where to plastic nipple is broke off, there was a hose connected from it to the intercooler. My question is, do I need this on the car and could this be whats causing my rough idle? My car is a 88 TII.

yes it would cause a rough idle, it is part of the accelerated warm up system. either replace it or perform the TB mod and remove the whole accelerated warmup system. in the meantime you could just plug both ends and see if it cures your rough idle problem.

check your intake and intercooler hoses for cracks and be sure they are tight. also do you have an aftermarket BOV?

Yes, I have the Blitz SS Bov and i'm venting to the atmosphere. But my car doesn't want to idle at all sometimes.

try disconnecting the vacuum line to the BOV and/or cupping your hand over it's exhaust to be sure it isn't causing an air leak.
