Nufinish. Not a wax, but a polish that lasts for about 5 or 6 washes. It's damn near fool proof.

I am an auto detailer if you can get a hold of any the best waxes on the market are by ARDEX and TRT I do my car once to twice a week i have been detailing for a while if you cant get a hold of any of those waxes use mothers other than ARDEX its the best on the market you can get without having to be a detailer. take it from me. If you can get some from ARDEX get the tefflon wax it will last you a good 2-3 months and will still bead up and feel like glass.

If the paint is ready...

I found that Mother's California Gold goes on and polishes off the easiest, lasts about 5-6 washings.

I steal my Dad's Zymol! I only wax my car at the beginning of spring and at the end of summer. The rest of the time it's under lock and key.

if you can get hooked up with wholesale stuff, p&s is pretty good. i think it is better quality and cheaper than ardex.

zymol is by far the best mainstream consumer stuff.

Zymol. Not the turtlewax brand but the expensive stuff. There is a factory up by my which produces Zymol products and they have awsome stuff.

Directions - apply, do not let dry, buff off, reapply, do not let dry, buff off, mist of water, wipe it with a soft cloth.

That will last 2-3 months with normal weather.
