What turbo and fuel mang.

Just found out my stock s4 man. and hot side have cracks every where. I would like to see 300-400 max. I'd like to buy some type of fuel mang. and be able to use it later down the road with a bigger turbo. ( buy the set up right the first time) but on the turbo I don't know what to buy for the money! ( thinking maybe a gt35 or should I go little bigger?) Any body with parts send pics and let me know Thanx Xtrm

First thing you should do is try and type out the whole word of what your looking for. I am pretty sure it took alot people some time to figure out "man = manifold" and "mang. = management"

Second, search. You gave us no idea of your budget and mechanical skills. There is tons of information on this forum regarding builds around the level of hp you are looking for. It's not really necessary to go all out with a standalone and big turbo. You could purchase a used stock manifold in good shape and get a BNR hybrid turbo and hit 300hp pretty easily with an Rtek ECU and a set of 720/1000 injectors. Throw in a FMIC or aux injection for intake cooling and you have a reliable rotary rocket.

To answer your questions though

Get an A-Spec kit. Their forum is on the main page, the GT35R kit for the FC is approximately 3k or so.

With a kit like the A-spec GT35R you will need a full standalone such as a Haltech or Microtech. Your also going to need bigger fuel injectors, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator. You will also need to build a FMIC because the stock TMIC isn't going to do anything with just a large turbo.

Alot of variables depending on what you want to do with the car. Do you want a track monster or a streetable rotary rocket. You also need to consider reliability mods such as a new radiator, stainless oil cooler lines, etc.

i have to agree with the 35R, it is very versatile and will hit your power goals. plus i have it in my car and all i can say is when it hits 16-18 psi hold onto your panties.

Not to threadjack, but i'm planning on upgrading turbos as well, what i had in mind was a fmic, bnr stage 2, 720's all around, a fpr set up and a safc2 for managing fuel, as well as the walbro 255. Im only planning on using the safc2 until i can pick up a power fc. anyone have any input on this? if it works the op might want to look into getting something similar. im planning on getting around 300rwhp. Would this work?

get the rtek 2.1 instead of the safc. You get much better control including timing control and go for 1000 secondaries to give you a little bit more headroom uptop.

Do I have to send my ecu out to Rtek? What injectors (720/1000, 720's all around, 720/880-800 or what not)? I geuss ur right 300 -350 is plenty of power and safe. So I should go with bnr stage 2 hybrid ( isn't that a internal gate?) I wanted to buy a aftermarket manifold and go with a xternal waste gate and set for 10-15 psi on high boost. I guess I could get a stock s5 manifold. Do I need to mod. the s5 manifold. ( the little flapper deal? Cut it out? or go aftermarket?) Thanx for all the help and advise, much needed. Looking to spend $ 2,000.00 dollars I found some really nice used parts so it might not be the much, but the turbo and manifold is what I like to buy first than buy my rtek and injectors/fuel pump. Thanx again

Yes you do send the ecu off to have it modded, the turnaround time is pretty fast though. For injectors get 720 primary and 1000 secondary. I have a BNR Stage 2 on the S4 manifold and its got good response and boost level. There is nothing wrong with the internal wastegate nor the s5 manifold. With the Rtek you are going to be limited to about 14psi of boost.

There is nothing to cut out of the S5 manifold. The S4 manifold has a twin scroll thing but that can be removed pretty easily.

Has your motor been ported or rebuilt?

s4 turbo motor isn't. (stock)
But I have a 6 port street ported and beleive small bridge work done. Bought it from Keith Wise Auto Innovations (spare race motor) and Tony Riveria built it. I have had three 2nd gen n/a and this is my first turbo car. *** in a way.lol But tought down the road maybe using it or sell/trade for a street ported 4 port. If i run my n/a street port, I have to do a little diff set up.

Anyways thought about getting after market cast greedy manifold and doing a s-5 turbo on external gated or hybrid set up and/or t3/t4? I know I can't go to far in the 300 range with out new build or ported and 2 mm seals etc...If you know anyone with a s5 hot side let me know and I'll use it until then. Thanx for the help and I'll have more ?'s
