What triggers the windshield wipers and climate control to come on?
Sometimes it takes a few secants for my wipers and climate control to come on, the last time they will not turn on until I turn my key back off then back on. Is there a relay somewhere that controls both? Did anyone else have this problem? How do I fix it?

Probably dirty/bad contacts in the switch. It could be the relay in the wiper switch causing problems. They fail often. Logicon could have cold solder joint problems. Search around, theres numerous threads on fixing both issues. Icemark has written a few I believe.

Hailers is right on the money. Mine does exactly the same thing. The sunroof won't work either, as well as the wipers and logicon. I just turn the key back towards the steering wheel a tiny bit, and I can hear a relay click somewhere behind the dashboard, and then everything works properly.

A new switch (just the electricals, not the lock) is about $90 from Mazdatrix. I suppose you could take out the old one and carefully drill a small hole in it and squirt cleaner into it, and then let it dry VERY, VERY thoroughly and see what happens. I've just learned to live with it, and it's getting better the more it's used.
