Pulled it from behind the air pump, guessing it has something to do with emissions? can i remove it?

 

It's the dump tube/muffler for the air pump.

Appears as though you already have removed it, so I assume the last part was rhetorical.

I thought sarcasm was my cup of tea. That's a chem gas filter for the rx7 tho, so when the Russians bomb us the car dont die of poison.... At first the small pic looked sorta like fuel filter, but big pic bleh.
